FfF PRESENTS: TRACES, a new series exploring the history of a place through the stories of the people.

“TRACES” is a web series that features the history of a place as told by the stories of the people who were there. The architecture throughout Los Angeles is fascinating for the juxtaposed layers of time you can find on one block. It’s not uncommon to find the 1960s, on top of 1918, right next to 2011. Imagine a local elder telling you what she remembers happening in a place she once knew. TRACES takes a deeper look into places in Los Angeles, exploring the stories of what they were then to what they are now.

TRACES No. 1 goes back to 1982 with a story about the “Youth Break Center, Inc./Radiotron” as told by founding director and Macarthur Park local, Carmelo Alvarez.

Check it out on the KCET website: KCET DEPARTURES Land of Sunshine
